When they reached out to us about filming their bold and colorful gay wedding at Mount Palomar Winery in Temecula, we knew we were in for an unforgettable experience.

Finding the Perfect Wedding Videographer

PK and Mike, well-known figures in the gay YouTube community, had been together for 9 years before tying the knot. As they planned their dream wedding, they knew they wanted to work with a predominantly team of queer vendors who could authentically capture the essence of their relationship. As allies, we were flattered when they reached out us to be their LGBTQ+ wedding videographer.

As LGBTQ+ allies & wedding videographers based in San Diego, we understand the importance of representation and the power of seeing out and proud queer love stories celebrated on screen. PK and Mike’s dedication to showcasing their journey and supporting the LGBTQ+ community resonated deeply with us, and we were thrilled to be a part of their special day.

A Star-Studded Affair: Ashton Kutcher Officiates PK & Mike’s Temecula Wedding

One of the most exciting aspects of PK and Mike’s wedding was the star-studded guest list. Mike, who has been Ashton Kutcher’s assistant for the past decade, had a very special officiant: Ashton himself! The presence of Ashton and his wife, Mila Kunis, added an extra layer of excitement to an already incredible celebration.

Capturing the Magic of PK and Mike’s Colorful LGBTQ Wedding

From the moment we arrived at Mount Palomar Winery, we were struck by the vibrant, joyful atmosphere. The couple’s choice of bold, colorful flowers by Cobra Lily set the tone for a day filled with love, laughter, and unapologetic self-expression.

One of the most unique aspects of PK and Mike’s wedding was their decision to get ready together, eschewing tradition in favor of spending every moment side by side. As LGBTQ allies & wedding videographers, we know that these intimate, authentic moments are the ones that truly showcase the depth of a couple’s connection.

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt touches, including PK and Mike’s adorable dog Beau serving as the ring bearer, proudly escorted down the aisle by PK’s father. PK’s grandmother, who supported him as his best woman, beamed with pride as she watched her grandson exchange vows with the love of his life.

Celebrating Love and Pride at Mount Palomar Winery

As the reception kicked off, the love and support for PK and Mike was palpable. PK and his dad surprised everyone with a choreographed dance that they blew out of the water! Continuing with surprises, PK and his good friend Taylor Lautner surprised everyone (including themselves) with an epic, impromptu dance battle, showcasing their playful, competitive spirit and setting the tone for a night of unforgettable celebrations.

Guests were treated to an array of delectable culinary delights, including amazing BBQ by Pete’s Firehouse BBQ and late-night bites from an In-N-Out truck. Vox DJs kept the dance floor packed all night long, as PK, Mike, and their loved ones celebrated love, pride, and the power of being true to oneself.

Preserving Precious Memories: The Importance of Choosing the Right LGBTQ+ Wedding Videographer

“Honestly- I don’t care how many videographers you’ve vetted or have mapped out in your wedding planning spreadsheet- look no further! We’ve been there. We literally looked into 18 videographers and made a google doc of pros, cons, price points, and we scheduled screening calls, stalked their socials and previous work. But- as soon as we found Jay and Mack, we were hooked.

If I’m being honest, I was hesitant about the price point. I wanted so badly to call off the search but I knew I had to look into other options (and Jay and Mack even gave us some reccos!) but after another week of the same calls, I just knew we were being pulled back to Jay and Mack and we pulled the trigger! If you’re going to spend money on ONE thing for your wedding- it should be the ability to relive that day over and over and over again in a way that feels uniquely you!

Take my advice – and save yourself the time I wasted pretending that these two weren’t the perfect fit for us!

You’re not getting a wedding video, you’re getting a cinematic experience where you and your partner are the star. And I wish those were my own words, but that was actually a direct quote from my Grandma after she watched our little teaser (before we even saw the final video!).

You can easily go with solid videographers that will pump out templated-style wedding videos at a fast pace- and we were about to- but we knew (just like y’all do) that those just didn’t feel like ‘us.’

Jay and Mack have an insanely unique ability to effortlessly showcase the passion, relationship dynamic, and love that couples share through raw moments, genuine interactions, and incredibly captured feature film style shots- optimized for social, too!

Even though the full length film took the time they originally quoted us during our intro session, Jay and Mack quickly turned around an incredible teaser just days after the wedding that was more than enough to hold us over until we were able to get our hands on the finished full length film! And even when the final product came- it was worth the wait and it was as if we got to relive our favorite wedding moments for the very first time!

Looking back, I just wish I went with my gut earlier and now I’m on a mission to make sure others don’t waste the time I did or miss out on this experience the way we almost did!
