an elopement in the sawtooth mountains of Stanley, ID

If you’re considering eloping in the outdoors, then you’ll want to watch this Sawtooth Mountains elopement video. Tia and Alex had an intimate ceremony in Stanley, ID surrounded by their closest friends and family members. To say it was epic would be an understatement.

Tia is from Montana and Alex is from Oregon. Both of them are very outdoorsy people. In fact, their first date was a backcountry skiing trip! When thinking of a location to get married at, they decided on an area in between both of their home states: Stanley, ID. Not only was it right in the middle, but it was also home of the Sawtooth Mountains.

When Tia and Alex first reached out, they made one thing clear: they wanted their elopement to be super low key. With that in mind, they did not want a huge production with tons of details. Instead, they simply wanted to have an experience of a lifetime with their friends and family, which is exactly what they did. Before their elopement in the Sawtooth Mountains, they spent the week backpacking, white river rafting, and visiting natural hot springs.

On the day of their elopement, Tia and Alex went their separate ways to get ready. Tia chose a secluded Airbnb called “The Mountain View Home”, named so because the view is literally of the Sawtooth Mountains!

For their Sawtooth Mountains elopement, Alex chose to get ready at “The Stanley House” which is where they would have their reception later in the evening.

First Look at Mountain View Home

The best part of having an elopement in the Sawtooth Mountains is that you can do it however you want. So like the rest of the day, they wanted to keep their first look very low key. In fact, they didn’t even want it set up. Instead, Alex simply walked upstairs as Tia was carrying her dress. Afterwards, they played around with their dog, Trek, in the large, open field right outside Mountain View Home.

Elopement Ceremony in the Sawtooth Mountains

Emily, their elopement planner, found the dreamiest spot for them to share their vows. Not only was it gorgeous, but it was easily accessible for all of their family members to get to. The spot was situated just off one of the forest roads, so everyone could easily drive there. The views were absolutely insane, with views of the town to the East and the Sawtooth Mountains to the South. Their vows were light hearted and a bit goofy, in the best way. Together, they also made vows to their family and friends, which was something we’ve never seen before.

Intimate Reception at The Stanley House

Just because they had an elopement in the Sawtooth mountains doesn’t mean that they can’t celebrate with a small group of family and friends. While Tia and Alex were busy taking portrait photos, Emily was busy styling their intimate dinner reception. It turned out absolutely stunning – low key, yet elegant. They ended the evening with an exquisite dinner prepared by Chef Yogi. As the sun set, there was nothing but good vibes, good company, and good laughs.
